Purpose and scope

Many options and functionality is available in Pages, including features that improve your search engine optimisation, set permissions for different customer groups and customise the look and feel of Aphix WebShop.
This feature guide describes a typical Aphix WebShop page. It explains how to view or edit each section in Aphix Management Interface.
Each Aphix WebShop page is built by combining a number of different sections to showcase your company and product to its best advantage. Each section can contain blocks, pages or links, or a combination of these three items.

How it fits together
You have purchased (at least) Aphix Digital Platform and Aphix WebShop.
Think of your Aphix WebShop as your electronic store window. You may want your brand to become more well known within your sector. You may want to share special offers with your customers on your front screen. You may want to display your products in an appealing way, with featured products on show, latest company news shared and the ability for your customers to carry out certain actions without your input.
It is possible for you to create an Aphix WebShop to perform all these actions and more. The configuration engine behind how your WebShop looks and behaves is found in the Content section of Aphix Management Interface.
When you click Pages in the Management Interface, you are presented with the Content Management System editor. The CMS editor consists of a navigational tree of your existing WebShop pages, an options panel containing set of tabs each with the options available for each page and functionality that allows you to create a new page, link, block and clone a page from an existing page (Action type).
During your product implementation, our consultants work with you to build a basic WebShop using both internal tools and the tools available to you in the Aphix Management Interface.
The image below shows a typical Aphix WebShop page. As you can see, it consists of a number of sections:
Hero banner set
Content sections (Popular categories, Best sellers, Latest news)
There is a hierarchy to each screen in WebShop which is mapped to the navigational tree in Management Interface. Within the navigational tree, there are branches and nodes. Each branch, which can be a block, a page or a link represents a set of nodes. A block is a one or more pages that are stored under the same branch within the navigational tree. A node can be a block, a page or a link. A page is a specific piece of text or particular image stored in the node position within the navigational tree. A link is a link to an existing page.
The icons representing each element (block, page or link) are shown below.
Each section in WebShop consists of a combination of blocks, pages and links that are used to create an electronic store window that reflects your brand.
A link points to a target page within the navigational tree. For example, “Shop” [found in the header] is a link to the product listing pages, from where you can add products to your cart and place your order. The product listing pages are structured within their default categories as you have set them up. The CMS editor opens up with options associated with creating and editing links.
A page is a web page that contains text and images. For example, “About us” [found in the header] is a page containing information about the company. The CMS editor opens up with options associated with creating and editing pages.
A block is a page that has different widgets available which enhance the look and feel of your WebShop. For example, the Latest News section contains two blocks - a “CMS - section” block and a “CMS - Latest Slider” block. The CMS editor opens up with options associated with creating and editing blocks. There are many block types, each of which has a different purpose.
Each page is assigned a template. A template is a preset page for that page. Eight templates are currently available.
Each template has a specific purpose. Consequently, each template has a specific set of pages it can be applied to. For example, the News Listing Page template can not be used for the initial landing screen to your WebShop.
Creating a typical WebShop page
During your product implementation, our consultants work with you to define and deliver an Aphix WebShop that suits your needs. As part of this process, you are required to send content (such as your contact details, product catalogue, store locations and so on). We use the content you send us to build your WebShop.
This section provides you with more detail about how each section is set up and what block types are used to create the functionality you see on the page.
Typically consists of links that you wish to remain anchored to the top of each WebShop page. Many of the items contained in the header are set up during you build. These include what social media you wish to use, the cart image, your phone number and the link to “My Account”.
It is currently not possible to view or edit the structure of the header in the Aphix Management Interface. Your header is set up during your build, and can contain different elements to that shown in the image.
It is possible to modify some of the content contained in the header, as follows:
Stock locator - on the left hand menu, click on Stores, and modify the content

Typically contains one or more product clickable images. When clicked, the images open up the product page where your customers can add them to their cart for purchase.
There are two menu options used in conjunction with each other to view or edit a banner set:
To view or edit the content (the images that you see), on the left hand menu, select Banners → <page in navigational tree to view or edit>. This opens the banner management system, which allows you to specify a hero banner set name and images associated with that banner set.
To view or edit how the content is displayed, on the left hand menu, select Pages → <page in navigational tree to view or edit>. This opens the CMS editor, with the relevant options under the two tabs: General and Options.
As an example of this, the following image shows the options for the “Banner - Slider” block.
Showcases the following block type:
a “Banner - Slider” block containing a number of clickable images that can be swiped left or right
Typically consists of a number of sections, where each section can be made up of blocks, pages and links.

To view or edit any of these content sections, on the left hand menu, select Pages → <page in navigational tree to view or edit>. This opens the CMS editor with the relevant options under the two tabs: General and Options.
As an example of this, the following image shows the options for the two blocks contained in the Popular Categories section.
The Popular Categories section consists of two blocks:
a “CMS Content” block containing the section title,
a “Category grid select” block containing links to categories in your product catalogue.
Typically consists of links that you wish to remain anchored to the bottom of each WebShop page.
To view or edit what you see in the Footer, on the left hand menu, select Configuration → Settings → CMS. Modify Footer links 1, Footer links 2 and / or Footer links 3.
The default value for these three settings is Root. However, you can change them to different content. For example, you may want to set one to Latest News. The Latest News page must exist in the Content → Pages hierarchy.
Shows two elements:
Block containing an option to sign up to the company’s newsletter
Footer containing contact information, links to Latest News, Store Information and Promotions
